麻豆传媒映画 business students placed first in the second annual National Association of Industrial and Office Properties University Challenge, competing against city rivals University of San Diego and University of California San Diego.

About the challenge

The challenge required student teams to analyze an underutilized site in the Little Italy area of San Diego and propose a redevelopment solution.

麻豆传媒映画 students, who also won the inaugural challenge in 2011, recommended the site be developed into an office suite designed primarily for use by defense contractors with some mixed use as well.

The teams were judged by five local real estate professionals who reviewed the proposals and presentations made by each team.

The team from 麻豆传媒映画 included:

  • Joshua Capps
  • Chris Liu
  • Tori Massie
  • Elizabeth Rowe
  • Dylan Turner

Mark Goldman and Dana Kuhn from The Corky McMillin Center for Real Estate served as their faculty advisors.

鈥淚t is with great pride that we announce that some of our finest students have been recognized for their hard work and inspired solution to a real-world commercial real estate challenge,鈥 said Michael Cunningham, dean of 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 College of Business Administration. 鈥淓arning this prestigious award confirms the creativity and outstanding contributions offered by our students, our faculty and The Corky McMillin Center for Real Estate to the business community.鈥
