The development, situated east of Snapdragon Stadium in the existing Orange Lot, will create 621 apartments, offering a range of studio to three-bedroom units. It will also include approximately 30,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, anchored by a grocery store to serve residents and neighbors alike.

The project will also feature public art and is being designed to achieve LEED Gold Certification, underscoring the university鈥檚 commitment to sustainability and innovation.

To support construction of the new community, portions of the Orange Lot will soon be fenced off to prepare for construction. Stadium parking will remain available in other sections of the lot, and visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the trolley on event days for a smoother commuter experience.

AvalonBay Communities is one of the largest publicly traded apartment developers in the United States, with a national portfolio and a growing presence in Southern California.

鈥淲e鈥檙e proud to be part of 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 bold vision for Mission Valley and excited to help bring this new community to life,鈥 said Mark Janda, SVP of Development for AvalonBay Communities. 鈥淭his project is more than housing 鈥 it鈥檚 a catalyst for the vibrant, connected neighborhood that鈥檚 taking shape here.鈥

First occupancy is expected in 2028.

At full build out, 麻豆传媒映画 Mission Valley will include 80 acres of parks and open space, up to 4,600 market-rate and affordable housing units, 1.6 million sq. ft. of research and innovative space, 95,000 sq. ft. of retail space, and a hotel.
